Christ God, when You raised Lazarus from the dead, before Thy Passion, You did confirm the universal resurrection. Wherefore, we, like children, carry the insignia of triumph and victory, and cry to You, O vanquisher of death: Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he that comes in the Name of the Lord!
 

Once again, most joyful excitement overwhelms us! Saturday of St. Lazarus, Palm Sunday and Easter – the feast of feasts, are all drawing near.
Year after year a light and а peaceful reverential joy arise in our souls.
The Lord resurrected Lazarus to unveil His divine power, to convince us that He is the Life-Giver, to assure us that even before His sufferings of the cross and His death, He was the Conqueror of death, and to unveil his endless love towards us.
The Lord resurrected Lazarus in the fourth day of his death, so that, according to St. Ephrem the Syrian, the deceased could be touched by Him, to assure everybody of his death, and then – of the general resurrection.
